ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
*Menimum Educational Qualification :Candidates should have passed Matriculation/ equivalent with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for both the posts and should possess Degree/ Diploma/ certificate in classical instrumentation-Mridangam for Classical instrumental-Mridangam (Carnatic Style) and possession of Degree/ Diploma/ certificate in Light Music (Vocal) for Light Music (Vocal).*Age Limit and Relaxation:Candidates should have 18 years to 35 years for Un-reserved and 18 years to 33 years for OBC and 18 years to 35 years for SC/ ST candidates as on 01-01-2014. Age Relaxation is applicable for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Widow/ Women.
EXAMINATION FEE:Candidates have to take Indian Postal Order (IPO) for Rs.100/- (For OBC) from any Post Office drawn in favour of FA & CAO, South Western Railway, Hubli payable at Hubli and No ffe for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Ex-Serviceman/ Women/ PH/ Minority classes.
MODE OF SELECTION :Candidates are selected based on written test and assessment of talent on relevant field.
HOW TO APPLY
Eligible candidates can apply on A-4 size paper written in English/ Hindi language filled and signed by the applicant only and should affix a pass port size photo (recent) duly attested by Gazetted Officer and attach a photo to the application by superscribing the envelope as “Application for Group ‘C’ Post against Cultural Quota for the year 2013-14″ and sent to Assistant Personnel Officer/ HQ, Personnel Department, South Western Railway Head Quarters, New Zonal Office Building, Gadag Road, Hubli- 580020 on or before 28-01-2014.TENTATIVE DATES:Last Date for Submission of Application: 28-01-2014.
Last Date for candidates in Remote areas & Residing in abroad: 12-02-2014.

South Western Railway was created by amalgamating the reorganized Hubli division from South Central Railway with Bangalore & Mysore divisions of Southern Railway. This railway has become operational from 1st of April, 2003 with its head quarter at Hubli in the state of Karnataka.The zone encompasses railway routes passing through Karnataka and parts of Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, Goa & Maharashtra.
