Assistant Station Master examination:Indian Railway Assistant Station Master is one of the important officials in a railway station. ASM is responsible for monitoring every task to perform in a railway station. It is their prime duty to ensure the safe arrival and departure of trains as well as passengers to and from a particular railway station. An ASM is assisted with technical and non-technical staffs in a railway station for performing each tasks. Assistant Station Master manages these staffs for the efficient out put at station.
AGE LIMIT:The candidates age limit is in between 18-30 years
PAY SCALE:(i) Pay Band - 5200 – 20200
(ii) Grade Pay - 2800
(iii) Initial Pay - 8560
(iv) Total Pay (i) + (ii ) - 11360
Written Examination (in two stages –preliminary and final) followed by Aptitude Test and Document Verification.Stages of examination are given against each post. Based on the performance of candidates in the written examination and aptitude test, the candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for document verification in the main list. In addition 30% extra candidates are also called as standby candidates and they are considered for empanelment only if there is shortfall in emplacement from the main list. During document verification, the candidates will have to produce their original certificates.
(i) General English: Questions on General English are designed to test the candidate's correct usage of prepositions, words and phrases.
(ii) Mathematics: Questions on Mathematics are designed to test accuracy in rapidity in working. These will mostly be questions in Arithmetic.
(iii) General Knowledge: Candidates are expected to possess a broad knowledge of current events and matters of general interest, particularly relating to India, including Indian Railways.
(iv) General Intelligence: The questions are designed to test the candidate's power of reasoning and his ability to draw conclusions.
The question paper will be in English, Hindi, Urdu and local languages and the duration of the examination will be 90 minutes with approximately 100 to 120 questions.
