ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
* Minimum Educational Qualification :Candidates applying for medical practitioner jobs in ECR should possess MBBS with internship, Registered with Medical Council of India/ Medical Council of State for S.No.I Post, Degree/ Diploma in corresponding specialty, PG Holder, Registered with Medical Council of India/ Medical Council of State for S.No.II Post.
* Age Limit and Relaxation:Not exceeding 50 years as on 13.11.2013 for both specialist & General Duty Doctors, which is relaxable by 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST communities & 03 years for OBC.
EXAMINATION FEE:No application fee
MODE OF SELECTION :Candidates will be selected based on their performance in Trials and interview and Medical Examination.
HOW TO APPLY
Applicant intending to join as Contract Medical Practitioner should apply on prescribed format enclosed along with self attested photocopies of following documents and attend the Walk-in-interview with original certificates mentioned below :-(a) Proof of age.
(b) Proof of passing MBBS & other educational certificate.
(c) Proof of registration in Indian Medical Council/Medial Council of State.
(d) Proof of caste in case of SC/ST candidate & creamy layer certificate in case of OBC candidate– only Central Govt. prescribed format will be accepted.
(e) Mark Sheet(s) of relevant qualification.
(f) 4(four) copies of passport size photograph with self signature.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES
(a) The daily rate of proportionate reduction from the remuneration in the event of absence:Specialist : Rs. 1560/General Duty Medical Practitioner : Rs. 1313/(b) Railway administration has legitimate right to transfer the engaged CMP(s) any where on E.C. Railway in case of administrative exigency.
(C) One set of 1st class complementary pass for self and family during each contract period which shall be issued after three months of regular contract service. Contract Medical Practitioner can avail free medical treatment on E.C.Railway Hospital for self only.
(d) No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for attending interview.
(e) Selected candidates will be posted in any Hospital/Health units of different Divisions of East Central Railway. The vacancies announced are only indicative and Railways reserve the right to make adjustments.
(f) CMP will have no right of posting against regular vacant post or transfer on request.
(g) CMP will not be allowed private practice after sanction of contract.
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Prior to 1996-97, Indian Railway consisted of nine Zones. On 16.06.96, Ministry of Railways decided to setup six new Zones to be carved out of the existing network of Indian Railway by reorganization of the existing zones. East Central Railway with its Headquarters at Hajipur in Bihar is one of these six new zones.East Central Railway was inaugurated on 08.09.96 and an Officer on Special Duty of the rank of General Manager was posted.Construction of temporary Zonal Office Building for E. C. Railway covering 3100 sqm. area was completed in June, 97 and core group of Officers and staff posted. E. C. Railway started functioning by looking after some of the activities of Sonpur and Samastipur Division.Though the Zone was first set up on September 8, 1996 with Headquarters at Hajipur, Bihar, it became operational on 1st October, 2002. East Central Railway was carved out ofEastern and North Eastern Railway consisting of the divisions namely Dhanbad, Danapur, Mughalsarai from Eastern Railways and Sonepur and Samastipur out of North Eastern Railway. The last eleven years of its existence has been full of challenges and every obstacle was dealt in a dedicated manner despite constraints of work force and infrastructure.
