ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
*Menimum Educational Qualification :Candidates should possess Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Communication) with minimum 2 years of experience as Train Operator/ Controller/ Maintainer for post no. 32, 03 years Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Communication) or its equivalent for post no. 17 & 18, Graduate in any discipline with minimum 3 years of experience as Train operator/ Station Manager/ Security Supervisor for post no. 07 & 08. Refer notification for post wise qualification details.*Age Limit and Relaxation:Candidates maximum age limit should be 50 years for post no. 01, 19, 33, 38, 40 & 46, 45 years for post no. 02 to 08, 20 to 21, 34, 39, 42, 47, 35 years for post no. 07 to 10, 11 to 15, 24 to 31, 35 to 37, 40, 43 to 45, 48 & 49, 50, 20 years for 16 to 18, 18 years for post no. 32 as on 01-03-2015. Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.
EXAMINATION FEE:Candidates need to pay Rs. 500/- in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Kochi Metro Rail Ltd., payable at Kochi.
MODE OF SELECTION :Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES
1. KMRL strives to have a workforce which reflects gender balance and women candidates are encouraged to apply.2. Experience and age criteria can be relaxed in case of otherwise exceptionally deserving candidates.
3. The number of vacancies shown above is tentative and may undergo change.
4. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified for interview. KMRL reserves the right to shortlist the candidates.
5. Applicants employed in Govt./Quasi Govt./ PSUs shall apply through proper channel,after forwarding the advance copy along with the application fee and shall produce a “No Objection Certificate” from their employer at the time of interview.
6. Acceptance or rejection of application of the candidates will be the sole discretion of the Management. Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected.
7. Applications of candidates attempting to influence or interfere with the selection process will be rejected summarily and he/she will be declared disqualified for future vacancies in KMRL.
8. No TA/DA will be paid by KMRL to candidates for attending interview.
9. Candidates who had applied earlier need not apply for the same position.
10. In case of candidates with experience in Metro/Railway/Railway PSU who have undergone training for a similar post, suitable pay increase subject to a maximum of three increments on the existing basic pay will be extended if selected.
11. Candidates presently under bond obligation with Metro/Railway, the liquidated damages for release of such candidates will be borne by KMRL with the condition that they have to enter into a fresh bond (three years) with KMRL.
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Ministry of Urban Development predicts an average city speed of 6 to 8 kmph by 2030, which is the speed of a morning walker, if urban transport is not properly planned and developed now.The present transport facilities are inadequate to handle every day demands. Gridlocks and congestion are routine now; they result in wastage of manpower, fossil fuels, increase pollution and act as dampeners to economic development. The traffic snarls force people to spend time on the road which they would otherwise spend with their friends and families. Further road development is very limited owing to geographical and demo graphical limitations. Therefore alternate modes of urban mass transport and multi modal integration have to be planned. The Kochi Metro Rail Project is the first move in such a direction in Kerala. Accessing jobs, education, livelihoods and other social needs from the outskirts into the business centre of the city would become less time consuming and quality of life will increase for the urban population. The average citizen would get a reliable, safe, economic, comfortable, user friendly and punctual mode of transport at affordable rates.
