ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
*Menimum Educational Qualification :Candidates must possess Graduation or S.S.C/ Matriculation (10th pass) or I.T.I or equivalent.Sports Qualification: Candidates who are represented the Country in Olympic Games/ World Cup/ World Championships/ Asian Games/ Commonwealth Games/ Asian Championship/ Asia Cup/ South Asian Federation Games/ Federation Cup Championships.*Age Limit and Relaxation:Candidates minimum age is 18 years and maximum age is 25 years as on 01-07-2014.
EXAMINATION FEE:Candidates need to Pay Rs.100/- in the form of Demand Draft/ Indian Postal Order of any Nationalized Bank/ Scheduled Bank/ Post Office drawn in favour of & payable at respective divisions (mentioned in notification). No Fee for SC/ ST / Women/ Minorities & Economically Backward candidates.
MODE OF SELECTION :Candidates will be selected based on performance in Trails and Interview.
HOW TO APPLY
Eligible candidates may send their applications in prescribed format along with Self/ Gazetted Officer attested copies of necessary enclosures in support of certificate of age, education, sports achievements, caste certificate etc, in a closed envelope superscribed with “Application for Recruitment against Sports Quota for the year 2014-15?, sent by ordinary post to the respective addresses (mentioned in notification) on or before 26-07-2014 by 17.00 hrs and 10-08-2014 by 17.00 hrs for remote areas.TENTATIVE DATES:Last Date for Submission of Applications: 26-07-2014 by 17.00 hrs.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES
1. Candidates should bring Original documents along with a set of photo copies of Date of Birth (Matriculation or equivalent Certificate), Educational Qualification, Sports Achievements etc attested by Gazetted officer or self, on the day of trial and interview, without which they will not be allowed to appear in the Trial/ interview. Certificates in languages other than English or Hindi should be accompanied by an attested translation in English/Hindi. All documents should attested by Gazetted Officer or self. No TA/DA/Accommodation will be given for appearing in the selection trials/interview. They have to bring their own playing kit. They may also be required to stay during the selection for 2-3 days, for which they have to make their own arrangements. The Railway Administration have all rights reserved to fix any date, as deemed suitable, change place or postpone trials/interview (at its own convenience), or even cancel due to unforeseen circumstances against which no claim will be accepted. Selected candidates willbe posted anywhere on North Western Railway.
2. Candidate applying for more than one game/event shall submit separate applications with separate DD/IPO as fee and documents for each event.
3. Candidates those who are already in service of North Western Railway and are eligible for the above, must apply through proper channel and should attach “No Objection Certificate” for the same from their employer.
4. Candidates should be in readiness to appear for the Trials etc. at short notice after the last date for submission is over.
5. Candidates’ admission at all stages of the recruitment will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. Mere issue of call letters to the candidate will not imply that his candidature has been finally cleared.
6. Sports persons recommended for appointment will have to pass medical test prescribed for the post to which they have been recommended.
7. The decision of Railway Administration/Selection Committee in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of application, final selection, offer of appointment,suitability to North Western Railway/Indian Railway and assigning of Post & Grade Pay etc.will be final and binding on the candidates and no inquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection.
8. Candidates should submit their application form in good quality A/4 size paper in prescribed format as Annexure-I given in notification duly completed in all respect with Self/Gazetted Officer attested photo copies of necessary enclosures (certificate of age, education, sports achievements, caste/community etc.)
9. Application should be filled up by candidates in their own hand writing either in Hindi or in English language.
10. Candidate may note that recruitment against these notified vacancies will be conducted separately and independently by the headquarter against the headquarter vacancies and by the respective division/workshop for their division/workshop quota vacancies. Therefore they should apply accordingly to the division/workshop or headquarter where they want to be considered themselves. (para-1, 2 & 7).
11. Sports persons having sports norms for higher grade pay and applied against the vacancies for the lower grade pay, can be considered. However, he/she will not claim for higher grade pay after joining the railways on the basis of sports achievements prior to joining Railways.
12. Certificate of participation and medal winning performance on letter heads of sports Federations/Associations/Universities/State Councils are discouraged for the recruitment purpose.
13. Certificate to Sports persons for team/group/relay events issued by recognized Federations/Associations/Universities should clearly indicate the actual participation in the field of play, in the event under consideration for this recruitment. A detail of matches and result, if any, to be given.
14. Selected candidates will have to submit “Service Bond” of 5 years at the time of appointment.
15. Sportsperson recruited against sports quota shall be terminated from service, if the information and documents furnished by him/her for recruitment, are found incorrect/ fake at any stage; observing requisite procedure for such termination.
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
North Western Railway came being on 1st October, 2002. It was carved out of 2 divisions each from Northern and Western Railways. The formation of this zone along with five other new zones was first approved by Railway Board on 16th September, 1996 and foundation stone for this zone was laid on 17th October 1996 by the then Prime Minister Shri H.D. Deve Gowda at K.P. Singh Stadium, Jaipur. The impetus for formation of New Zone came with the Government of India notification no. 97/E&R/700/1 /Notification dated 14.06.2002 wherein it was decided that North Western Railway with its jurisdiction over existing Jaipur and Ajmer divisions of Western Railway and Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions of Northern Railway was to come into effect from 1.10.2002.Consisting of four divisions, this railway has a total of 578 stations covering a total of 5449.29 route kms out of which 2575.03 are broad guage and 2874.23 are metre guage. The total track kilometers of this railway, however, are 6559.546 kms. The four divisions are Ajmer, Bikaner, Jaipur & Jodhpur. Jaipur & Ajmer divisions were originally part of Western Railway and Bikaner & Jodhpur were part of Northern Railway. The total number of trains dealt by North Western Railway amounts to 452 out of which BG trains total 264 and MG trains total 188.Jaipur Division – This division was formed after merging parts of BB&CI, Jaipur State Railways and Rajputana Malwa Railway, Jaipur Division serves the states of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Being a predominately passenger earning division (84.92% of its earning is by way of passenger traffic), it deals primarily with cross traffic consisting of fertilizer, cement, oil, salt, food grains, oil seeds, lime stone and gypsum traffic. Container loading is done from here in bulk. The total no. of stations on this division is 128 and the total no. of trains run are 146. Jaipur station alone deals with 88 BG & 22 MG trains and 35,000 passengers in a day. In order to ensure that the passenger does not face any hardship for reservations the division has at the moment 14 functioning Computerized Passenger Reservation System Centres. The staff strength of this division in all categories is 12007.
