ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
* Minimum Educational Qualification :Minimum 10th pass or ITI or equivalent The persons who are class VIII passed may also be considered provided they have outstanding sports achievements. They will be considered for recruitment in (-) 1S Pay Band Rs.4440-7440/- having without any Grade Pay. Such Sports persons will be given the regular pay band PB-1 of Rs.5200-20200/- along with Grade Pay of Rs.1800/- only on acquiring the minimum Educational Qualification under the recruitment rules or passing the requisite training test .* Age Limit and Relaxation:Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on 01.01.2014..No relaxation in age limit( upper or Lower) shall be permissible.
EXAMINATION FEE:Demand Draft/Indian Postal Order of Rs 100/- DD/IPO should be drawn in favour of FA&CAO Eastern Railway Kolkata payable at GPO. Demand draft should be of on any Nationalized/scheduled bank payable at Kolkata. IPO should be payable at G.P.O. Kolkata. Fees once received will not be refunded in any case. Examination fee is not applicable for SC/ST , female, minorities, and economically backward class candidates.
MODE OF SELECTION :All eligible candidates will be called for Trial and after Trial only the FIT candidates will be called for Interview. Candidates declared NOT FIT by the Trial Committee will not be assessed further by the Recruitment Committee.

The application should be sent by ordinary post only or to be dropped in the application box provided for the purpose kept in Grievance Counter near the gate in the Divisional Railway Manager’s Office, Eastern Railway, Malda up to 17.00 Hrs. of 25.10.13. Applications sent by Registered Post/Courier/By Registered AD will not be accepted. Any deficiency/discrepancy found in the application and papers submitted by the applicant will render the application invalid. On the top of the envelope “APPLICATION FOR RECRUITMENT AGAINST SPORTS QUOTA FOR THE YEAR 2013-14” and category number should be super scribed.TENTATIVE DATES:25-10-2013

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES
1. Candidates should bring Original Documents along with two sets of attested photo copies( duly attested by Gazetted Officer) in support of Date of Birth (Matriculation or equivalent Certificate), Educational Qualification, Sports Achievements, Caste/Community Certificate etc. on the day of trial and interview, without which they will not be allowed to appear in the Selection. 2. Candidate applying for more than one game/event is required to submit separate application along with DD/IPO & requisite documents
3. Candidates those who are already in service must apply through proper channel and should attach “No Objection Certificate” for the same from their employer.
4. Candidates should be in readiness to appear for the Trials etc. at short notice after the last date for submission of application is over.
5. Candidate’s admission at all stages of the recruitment will be purely provisional subject to Satisfactory of the prescribed eligibility conditions. Mere issue of call letter to the candidate will not imply that his candidature has been finally cleared.
6. Sports persons recommended for appointment will have to pass medical test prescribed for the post to which they have been recommended.
7. The decision of Railway Administration/Selection Committee in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of application, assigning of post, Grade Pay etc. will be final and binding on the candidates and no inquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection.
8. Candidates should submit their application form in good quality A/4 size paper on prescribed format as given in notification duly completed in all respects along with necessary certificates in support of age, education, sports achievements, caste/community etc duly attested by Gazetted Officer.
9. Application should be filled in by the candidates in their own hand writing either in Hindi or in English language.
10. One Passport size photograph duly signed on the front side top should be pasted on the space provided in application and two passport size photographs also to be signed on the back side should be clipped along with the application form.
11. All or any of the terms /conditions in the notification can be modified / cancelled without any notice.
12. SC/ST candidates will be given free traveling authority.
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Railway Recruitment Board, Malda initially started as Railway Service Commission in the year 1984 and thereafter, it was named as Railway Recruitment Board, Malda in the year 1985. Railway Recruitment Board, Malda status to the need of recruitment for Group 'C' staff for some Divisions of Eastern Railway, South Eastern Railway, Northeast Frontier Railway and Production Unit i.e. Chitta Ranjan Locomotive Works. The office is headed by Chairman, Assistant Secretary and other staff constitute office of RRB, Malda RRB calls for eligible applicants through “ Employment News ” ( A publication of The Government of India). The employment notification is also published on the Internet web site. The applications are scrutinized for eligibility. Eligible candidates are called for a written Examination with call letters being sent a month in advance of the date of the Examination. Examinations are generally held in Malda. However, if no. of candidates is very large, exams. may be held at Asansol or other locations, as necessary.If number of candidates is large, the candidates who qualify in the preliminary exam. are called for the main written exam. as per extant guidelines in this regard The merit list is prepared based only on the results of the main Exams. In most categories of jobs, there is no interview after the written examination. For a very few specific categories there is a viva after the written exam. While for certain other categories there is a skill test.
