RAILWAY RECRUITMENT 2017-18
Indian Railway is pride of India as well as huge asset of central government. It is counted as one of the biggest employer of Asia consists of around 1.5 million employees. Indian Railways was established in April 16, 1853 and is controlled and operated by Ministry of Railways. Railway is divided into 17 zones for easy management, based on location mainly East West, North South and Central and 19 RRBs which are responsible for recruitment in railway.As railway recruitment process is concerned it is mainly divided in two broad category i.e. (1) Technical and (2) Non-technical department. Then railway recruitment 2018 is further divided in four groups like group Group A, Group B, Group C and Group D jobs. There are total nineten railway recruitment boards (RRB) which are empowered for employment of group C and D technical as well as non technical staff in Indian railway. Following are the group wise job categorization.
Gazetted officer or Group A posts of Indian railway:
The gazetted officer rank posts are filling up by the candidates which are appeared in open railway competitive examination conducted by union public service Commission (UPSC).but these gazetted ranks are categorized into two broad areas, technical & non-technical services.Technical gazetted post of Indian Railway: These officers are responsible for look after maintenance of diesel locomotives, rolling stock of railway wagons and goods carriages, as also drivers of engines etc.

Non-Technical gazetted post of Indian railway: These officers are responsible for the accounting & finance section of the Railways, the personnel & the security of railway property and transportation and commercial matters etc.

c. Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS)
d. Indian Railway Protection Force (IRPF)

RRB Recruitment of Indian Railway:
Group B Posts of Indian Railway:
As railway recruitment concern there is no direct recruitment process in Indian railway for group B post. it is only the departmental promotional post from Group C post.Group C & D Railway Recruitment 2017-18:
Group C & D Posts of Indian Railway:
The Railway recruitment Board carried out the employment process of group C and D posts. There are total 19 RRBs who are employed for the recruitment process group C & D staffs of Indian railway. The group C posts are divided into two categoriesa. Group C technical posts: There are various posts, which come under the technical cadres in railway like engineer in various department, station master, signal and mechanical inspectors, motormen and drivers.
b.Group C non technical posts: Various non-technical job categories include Clerks, Assistant Station Masters, Ticket-Collectors, Train Clerks, Commercial Apprentice, Traffic Apprentice etc.Account Clerk, Personnel Branch Clerk, Commercial Clerk, TC, Train Clerk, Timekeepers, Fuel checkers, Store clerks, Markers.
