ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
*Minimum Educational Qualification :Following are the qualification given as per grade pay.1. For the post having GP Rs.1800/- Pass in Matriculation or ITI or its equivalent.
2. For the post having GP Rs.1900 & Rs.2000/-Pass in Matriculation or higher education.
3. For the post having GP Rs.2400/- (Technical) Pass 10+2 stage in Higher Secondary in science i.e. Maths or Physics or equivalent.
4. For the post having GP Rs.2800/- A University Degree or its equivalent.
*Age Limit and Relaxation: Between 18 years and 25 year as on 1 January 2014
EXAMINATION FEE:Candidates applying for NER sports quota job are requested to send their application fee paid through Indian Postal Order drawn in favor of Assistant Personal Officer (Recruitment Cell), RRC, North-Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur (Payable at Gorakhpur).
(a) For posts with Grade Pay Rs.2400 and Rs.2800:Rs.60
(b) For posts with Grade Pay Rs.1900 and Rs.2000:Rs.40
(c) For posts with Grade Pay Rs.1800: Rs. 100
MODE OF SELECTION :Sportsmen are applying for RRC gorakhpur Group-D job will be considered for appointment on the basis of their performance in trials, and assessment of their sports achievements and general intelligence/ personality etc

ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
April 16, 1853, was a public holiday in Bombay. Throughout the early afternoon, throngs of holiday makers could be seen making their way to Bori Bunder from where wafted strains of music, rendered by the Governor's personal band. Shortly before 3.30 p.m., 400 privileged personalities of the city climbed aboard the center of the day's festivities - the 14 gleaming carriages of the Great India Peninsula Railway, coupled behind a small steam engine, named the Falkland.At the stroke of the half-hour, the driver of the Falkland opened the engine valves, as his fireman shoveled vigorously. The Falkland breathed heavily, enveloping bystanders in a cloud of steam. The driver reached for the whistle chord, the crowd cheered lustily and the boom of the first volley of a 21 gun salute resounded through the moist heat of the afternoon. A final toot of the whistle, a final snort from Falkland and India's first railway train edged forward, puffing and hissing and groaning through the 35 kilometers to Thana.Almost six years later, on March 3, 1859, the first Railway Line in North India was laid between Allahabad and Kanpur. This was followed, in 1889, by the Delhi - Ambala - Kalka line. From these modest beginnings, the Indian Railways have grown to become the world's largest network under a single management, covering 7000 stations spread over 62,725 route kilometers and 1,07,360 track kilometers, carrying over 11 million passengers and over one million tonnes of freight every day
