ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
* Minimum Educational Qualification :Central govt job aspirants apply against Apprentices job in Central railway must passed 10th class with minimum 50% marks in Matriculation and ITI from a reconised board .
* Age Limit and Relaxation:Applicants age limit should be between 15 years to 24 years as on the date of notification i.e 19.08.2013
EXAMINATION FEE:No application fee
MODE OF SELECTION :Eligible applicants will be selected on the basis of merit without any written examination.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES
i) Application should be completed in all respect. Incomplete/Unsigned/ Recent Photograph Not pasted/Non-Submission of attested xerox copies of certificates shall be a disqualification for eligibility and shall be deemed to be rejected. Mere submission of application will not confer upon any right on the applicant to be called for medical examination and verification of documents.
ii) Application submitted beyond the last date of submission shall be deemed to be rejected.
iii) Mandatory attested xerox copies to be enclosed by the applicant in order to decide the eligibility. a) Date of Birth Certificate
b) Educational qualification Certificate.(Academic/Technical-Mark-sheet/Passing Certificate).c) Caste Certificate.
iv) Candidates selected to be called for medical examination will have to bring their original certificates at the time of medical examination.
v) Candidates appearing for medical examination and document verification shall come at their own expenses.
vi) Selected candidates should have to conform to the Appropriate Standard of Physical fitness prescribed for the relevant trades examined by the Railway Medical Authority for their medical fitness i.e. B-1 Medical Category.
vii) Administration reserves the right of allotting of designated trades after the final selection.
viii) Apprentices shall make their own arrangement for stay during the period of training.
ix) Candidates selected under the Apprentice Act-1961, shall execute a contract of Apprenticeship with the establishment before commencement of training.
x) Apprentices shall be controlled by the provisions of Apprentice Contract executed between the employer and the Apprentice.
xi) Apprentices shall be paid stipend payable during the period of training, subject to the their work and conduct found satisfactory.
xii) Training consists of Basic Training followed by practical training including a course of related instructions appropriate to the designated trades.
xiii) Training of ITI candidates shall be regulated accordingly.
xiv) Working Hours shall be observed as per the attached establishment.
xv) 5% weightage should be given for ITI qualification in the relevant trade where the MEQ is matriculation. There should be no weightage for Diploma in Engineering for intake of trade apprentices under the Apprentice Act as trade related education is not a part of the course curriculum of an engineering diploma. There will be no other weightage
xvi) There will be no interview.
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
The Great Indian Peninsular (GIP) Railway, came into existence o­n April 16, 1853, when the first train o­n the Indian Sub-continent steamed off from Mumbai to Thane, a modest stretch of o­nly 33 kms. Central Railway was carved out of erstwhile GIP Railway o­n November 5, 1951. Central Railway covers a large part of the state of Maharashtra and parts of North-Eastern Karnataka and Southern Madhya Pradesh. It is a system with a network of 3905.47 route kilometres and 5975.33 track kilometres linking 477 stations in five divisions i.e Mumbai, Pune,  Bhusawal, Nagpur and  Solapur . Central Railway is the leading passenger carrying system. It carries more than 4 lakh passengers every day to each nook and corner of the country through Mail/Express/Passenger trains. Mumbai Suburban Train System is the life line of the Metropolitan City.  More than 3 million passenger travel every day in 1573 suburban trains, moving across 77 stations. 40 suburban services are operated o­n Pune-Lonavla section in Pune division.  The Mumbai Suburban System of Central Railway extends from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus to Kalyan (54 Kms.), where it bifurcates into 2 directions, o­ne to Kasara (121 Kms) and the other to Khopoli (114 Kms.). Central Railway is also distinguished for its Neral - Matheran Line (Narrow Gauge line), which links Neral with the enthralling hill station of Matheran in the Western Ghats, o­n the Mumbai-Pune main line. Deccan Queen, Punjab Mail, Gitanjali Express, Hussain Sagar Express and Pushpak Express are the few prestigious trains run by Central Railway.
