ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
*Menimum Educational Qualification :The minimum eligibility criteria for applying for Act Apprenticeship shall be a National Trade Certificate after successfully completion of ITI Course. The candidates will be considered for engagement as Act Apprentice only in the trades in which they have completed their ITI. ITI certificate issued by NCVT onlywill be valid.*Age Limit and Relaxation:15 to 24 years
MODE OF SELECTION ::Candidates applying for RCF Jobs 2013 will be selected on the basis of Interview followed by Medical examination.
HOW TO APPLY
Selected candidates will be liable to be summarily dismissed at any stage without any notice, if it is found that they have furnished wrong/false information or documents in support of their selection. After passing the course of Act Apprentices there will be "NO GUARANTEE FOR THEIR EMPLOYMENT ON THE RAILWAYS". IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES
1. Candidates are to be of 15 to 24 years of age as on 17.06.2013. In case of trades Welder and Carpenter where qualification is 8th class the upper age limit will be 22 years. Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years and 03 years in case of SC/ST and OBC candidates respectively & 10 years for physically handicapped persons.2. Enrollment with Emplopyment Exchange of Punjab is must except for Wards of employees of RCF/Kapurthala. Only ST Candidates belonging to Himachal Pradesh / Jammu & Kashmir & Uttarakhand are eligible to apply having enrolment with Employment
3. Written test will be held in last week of September /2013. The standard of examination will be ITI. Question paper will be in English, Hindi and Punjabi languages. Result of written test will be published equal to the seats notified in order of merit. 10% extra candidates will be kept as the waiting list in respective trades, keeping in view of non-reporting of candidates within the prescribed time/failing in medical test.
3. No daily allowance/conveyance or traveling allowance will be paid to the candidate who will be called for written test tests. SC/ST candidates will be issued 2nd class journey traveling facility from the nearest Railway station to Hussainpur and back for attending the selection only. The selected candidates will be sent to Technical Training Centre , Rail Coach Factory(Kapurthala) for training in their respective trades for one year in all categories except Carpentry trade where their training is for 02 years.

Established in 1986, RCF is a coach manufacturing unit of Indian Railways. RCF has already carved a niche in the industrial scenario of the country at large and Indian Railways, in particular. It has manufactured around 16000 passenger coaches of 51 different types including Self Propelled passenger vehicles which constitute over 35% of the total population of coaches on Indian Railways. Welcome to RCF RCF is equipped with a state-of-the-art CAD centre and CNC machines to undertake design and manufacture of Bogies, Shell (both with Stainless Steel and Corten Steel), FRP interiors as per customer’s requirement. The state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and processes have enabled RCF to achieve excellence in Design, Development, Manufacture, Installation and After-sales service of Railway coaches with a view to ensure enhanced satisfaction of the Rail customer. To bring a quantum jump in passenger coach technology and bring it to the contemporary world standards under Transfer of Technology Contract with M/s. Alstom-LHB, Germany, RCF has successfully rolled out Alstom-LHB design stainless steel coaches for Rajdhani & Shatabadi Express trains. The designs for Rajdhani coaches including lay outs, manufacturing drawings and specification etc. were entirely prepared by RCF. The bogies for these coaches are of FIAT design providing faster, comfortable and safe travel. RCF has now fully absorbed the state-of-the-art Technology for manufacturing stainless steel coaches. 350 nos. of stainless steel coaches in 13 different variants have already been manufactured by RCF.
