ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :
*Minimum Educational Qualification :
1.Dy. Chief Engineer : BE/BTech (Civil Engineering) from reputed institute with minimum 60% marks and 15 years of professional experience with at least last 05 years in Civil Engineering Design work.
Desirable Qualification : ME/M Tech(Structures with minimum 60% marks.
*Upper Age limit as on 01.01.2013 :55 Years
2.Assistant Engineer: BE/BTech (Civil) with minimum 60% marks and 02 years of professional experience in Civil Engineering Design works.For candidates with ME/M Tech. (Structures with minimum 60% marks, qualifications requirement of experience may be dispensed with.
Upper Age limit as on 01.01.2013 : 50 Years
MODE OF SELECTION :
Based on the applications received, eligible candidates will be called for written examination and personal interview and scrutiny of documents as per number of vacancies to be filled in. Candidates with all clear records and as per merit will be called for prescribed medical examination. The selected and medically fit candidates will be provisionally appointed based on the merit position. Candidates so selected will be on probation for a period of 2 years. Selected candidates will be required to submit Indemnity Bond and complete all recruitment formalities as prescribed. Selected candidates will be governed by all rules and regulations and service conditions as applicable to all other regular employees of KRCL.

The Konkan Railway was the missing link between India’s commercial capital, Mumbai, and Mangalore. The 760-kilometre line connects Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka States — a region of crisis-crossing rivers, plunging valleys and mountains that soar into the clouds.The Konkan is a coastal strip of land bounded by the Sahyadri hills on the east, and Arabian Sea on the west. The formidable terrain to be conquered and the short construction period meant that the project could only be completed with the help of several technological innovations. Apart from setting a trend for other infrastructure projects in the country, the Konkan Railway provides concrete proof of the skills of Indian engineers, their discipline, team spirit and courage. But it is also a tribute to the unconquerable human spirit. Beyond the technical jargon, it was a leap of faith that made the long cherished dream of the people of the region possible.
